What is a coronary ligament sprain?
The coronary ligament is part of the fibrous joint capsule or the knee. It attaches to the edge of the cartilage meniscis and to the adjacent part of the tibia or shin bone.
How is it caused?
A coronary ligament sprain is often caused by a twisting of the knee. It has very similar symptoms to that of a torn meniscus. It is common that this injury occurs in conjunction with a grade 1 medial meniscus injury.
