- Apply cold therapy if it is acute or painful.
- Apply heat and wear a heat retainer.
- See a sports injury professional.
What can a sports injury specialist or doctor do?
- Prescribe ant-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen.
- Apply ultrasound treatment.
- Immobilize in a plaster cast for 1 to 4 weeks if it is bad enough.
