Hello,

I'm having stiffness in right elbow joint.
The reason is, I had a fall from a height of about 12-15 feet and broke my elbow bone. The radial head was removed and now as per my physiotherapist the curve is now flat which pinches the muscles if forced to straighten the arm.

The other reason she states is that if I force too much then the bone might pierce into the muscles and the condition called MYOSITIS OSSIFICANS might come up.

What needs to be done at this stage ? As its almost 5 1/2 months since I'm undergoing physiotherapy and now am losing my patience.

What can result into a speedy recovery without creating any complications ?

Please guide.
Thanking You.

Hi,
Just wondering a little bit about your injury. Four years ago i had a snowboarding accident and shattered my radial head. I had surgery to reconstruct the joint but it failed. After that i had a second lot of surgery to remove the radial head and insert a prosthetic one. Now 4 years later the prosthesis has worn away at the ulna and humerous and also turned in the bone. The options now are to have it removed and be without a radial head like you, or to try inserting another type of prosthesis.
Just wondering how you manage without your radial head. Do you have many problems, for example, loss of strength and use?
Just trying to weigh up the pro's and cons.

Id appreciate any responses.

Cheers
