Hi all,
I injured my shoulder approximately 5 months ago when lifting weights. As I dropped the weight on to a support rack (while I continued to hold on to it), it bounced back and jarred my shoulder. I felt immediate pain in the back of my shoulder, which has stayed with me for the last 5 months (although the pain has decreased quite a bit in the last month). Although I have not yet visited a physician, I have done a bit of research, and determined that I have likely torn my teres minor. Unfortunately, there is a paucity of information about tears of this particular muscle/tendon. In terms of symptoms, I have no real problem with range of motion, however I have experienced consistent pain (and weakness) in lateral rotation and overhead motions, along with a sense of shoulder instability. I suppose I am looking for someone who has either experienced a similar injury, or someone who knows a bit more about shoulder injuries than I do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
