Hi Team
I'm 23 weeks post surgical repair of a L) foot Lisfranc # Dislocation. Diagnosis was initially done on day on injury visually and confirmed by non weight bearing x-ray showing an 8mm seperation (I understand this is pretty "up there" on the scale of things).
Whilst I'm having ongoing issues with 3rd to 5th toe activation resulting in a very non efficient and comfortable gait pattern (tendon damage seems to be an issue here) and subsequent R) archillies overuse, my BIG question is in regard to non drug treatment of a developing Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I don't yet have the classic symptoms and want to do anything I can to avoid this developing further! My surgeon is convinced that this is all down to nerve stretching during the operation and tells me it will settle. To date I have definate Discoloration (ranging from bright red to a dull purple) My GP refers to my "Dead persons foot", I don't have "burning" as such but do suffer from "hot flushes" of the foot and attempts at "desensitisation" with fabric, temperature etc have a fine line before seeming to aggrivate the situation.
Any further advise/suggestions anyone has in relation to non drug therapy would be very much appreciated. I'd also be interested in any experiences of drug therapy that has or hasn't worked as a last resort!
Cheers S
