View Full Version : Shoulder injury that has flummoxed me :)

Hi

Just a bit of advice would be appreciated.

I noticed a pain in my left bicep area on lifting my left arm recently. It also radiates to my shoulder and an area of muscle just below my left collarbone is sore to touch. My arm feels a bit heavy and numb.
I didn't really do anything to precede this injury except wear a heavy rucksack for a short period of time (about 20 minutes).

It doesn't hurt on some arm movement but mainly on lifting my left arm above my head or twisting it around my back (doing up my bra is tricky). The shoulder joint does pop when I raise my arm. Sleeping is difficult and I can't bear weight with this arm easily. I did wonder if I strained a muscle but would have expected the pain the ease a bit by now as it's been 4 days since the injury.
I do find that gentle movement eases the pain so have tried not to immobilise the joint but equally am aware I shouldn't do too much which is not easy when you drive a motorcycle.

I haven't seen my GP yet but will if it continues. Can you give any advice on how best to rehab the injury?

Thanks :)
