I am 6 foot and weigh 16.5 stone i do gym work as well as strongman event work, I have had an on going problem with this, it happened this time doing cleans, i got to 10 reps weight was 90kg, afterwords i began to get the tendonitus feeling again, before i have had cortizone injections, deep muscle massage, i have upped my vit C 1000mg, i take zinc and magnesium, fish oils and joint formulas, i always warm up and cool down. This happened last year and it always seems to be when my training is really coming ahead, and a few months before a competion. My brother also noted that where the tender area is was off colour, a very light white colour, and when i squated that this area would go red then white as if there was great tension on the skin. Now i dont feel it when i squat and i used to squat and shoulder press, olympic bar, on the same night which is what i think originally set it off. I think there is lack of flexibility in my muscle from wrist to elbow but have no idea how to make my muscle more elastic, or stronger so that i can carry the weights. This is the only injury i have got from training and i really need some help to get rid of this problem.

Hi

When you say tendonitis, do you mean like tennis elbow? Pain on the outside of the elbow (with the palm of the hand facing down)?

If the pain had flared up again, rest until it is gone with daily activities and then start to stretch the muscle. If this is ok for a few days then start to strengthen it using a dumbbel to extend the wrist. Only do this if it is pain-free.

You can get some ideas here:
