Since i've been running, i have had previous pelvic alignment issues, which have been recified by physio and specific exercises.
before i bought my last pair of shoes, i was gait analysed and over pronation shoes presribed.
running was going well, but about 10 days ago, i started to get a niggle in my right inner hip. This got progressively worse over about 3 days, and got to the point where i can't lift my knee (whilst sitting or standing) which makes walking painful and running impossible.
Over the last 10 days, i have tried, resting it, stretching it, icing it, warming it etc. and even Ibuprofen doesn't ease the pain much!!!
The pain comes and goes, when it goes i can walk up stairs with no pain, but there is still a niggling pain on any kind of rotation of the hip.
when i stand straight, my right foot wants to turn outwards, and if i straighten up my feet, then it pulls tight my hip, so i'm walking like a duck at the moment.
If i sit, it hurts to move my knee to the left or right. also just when i think it's better, i'll lift my leg to put a sock on, and then i can't stand up again, and no stretch in any direction eases it.
I can't remember 'doing' something to have caused this specifically, but i'm at a loss to know what might be causing it, and what the best treatment may be.
i have a physio appointment booked for next thursday, but if anyone could give me any advise etc in the meantime, i would really appreciate it, as i don't want to spend another night sobbing into my pillow!!!!
