hey guys, im hoping some of you can guide me and tell me if you know what this could be

im very active and love to play soccer. when i was younger i had tractions on my hips because at one point they were horrible and i couldnt even walk. so they put weights on my legs and stretched them apart. that helped and i havent looked back since.

however, i realized 2-3 years ago that slowly, that whenever i tried to do the splits, or abduction movement. i got the same pain on both side of my hips. it felt like a very deep pain. slowly, my range of motion started decreasing and now its pretty horrible. i have very poor rotational movement of my hips if i went to rotate outwards on both sides and it hurts. i dont know whether its my muscles hurting, or if its my nerves tangles or something more serious such as arthritis. however, its on BOTH hips. another thing is that it doesnt affect my running, sprinting whatsover as im very fast otherwise. its just that my side-side agility has become quiet horrible and affected my game drastically. i got x rays done, bone scans done, but both showed normal blood counts and no problem. either the doctors dont know, werent bothered but i know there is something wrong. it is not normal for a guy for 20 years old to perform hip abduction movement and complain about the hips rather then to complain that he is stretching his groin. i cant even stretch enough to stretch my groin. ur opinions will be appreciated

thanks. plz email me at ratran@muss.cis.mcmaster.ca for help

I have the same issue. I skate , and have been traiing harder for the past 2 years. My hip slowly started to bother me, then I decided to get treatment, and it' hasn't gotten any better. My next step is waiting for an MRI to see exactly what is going on. I suggest you see a sports therapist, or chiro to get in line for that if you can. My groin is starting to get adffecxted by hit, and it is sore the next day after a work out. I try to stretch as much as possible, but the IT stretches, or sitting crosslegged, is impossible. I'm flexible in one side only, and the other is a very decreased ROM. My chiro thinks it is a laberal tear, but won't know for sure until I get an MRI
