I was recently involved in a horrendous motor bike accident in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where the bike I was on as a pillion rider was hit by an out of control Lambourghini travelling at 200 kph. I was thrown about 12 - 15 feet into the air, and landed on my right buttock on the asphalt, then rolled down the road. Remarkably, the only fracture was on right hand, and all bruising on legs & buttocks has healed well. However, the contusion and pain in my right buttock has been horrendous. Doctors here are not "holistic" in approach and once they had set my hand, discharged me with the advice that the best physio I could do was to "get on with my life". I used Arnica cream from day one, & Reparil (horse chestnut) but a few days later I collapsed from the unbearable pain and was re-admitted. I now know that I should have been resting the muscles completely. It is now slowly healing, I am having therapeutic massage to legs and around buttocks (but not deep muscle massage to the area) and just wondered if anyone might have any ideas? I am thinking of going for re-hab where there is a hydro therapy pool. (I already have a spinal injury which has left me weak on my right side, so those buttock muscles were already weakened.)
