Pain in elbow and grinding

I am having grinding feeling when i bend my elbow. Also have pain where all the muscle+tendon attach to the bones and they are tender. I am having surgury again on my left elbow for a ulnar nerve that is popping over the bone all the time i bend my elbow. What could cause all this? Thanks.
