pain in wrist and forearm

I fell in Jan 2007 and fractured my wrist I also injured my shoulder they put a plate in my wrist and I was doing really well a little stiffness but nothing I couldn't live with. Jan 2008 I had my shoulder surgery partial rotator cuff tear therapy hadn't helped. I started therapy 2 weeks after surgery was doing ok for about 3 weeks then my forearm started hrting and it felt like someone put a match to it. I have lost a lot of muscle mass in my wrist and forearm I can feel the screws in my wrist it feels like they are rubbing on the inside there is a spot that is painful it hurts to even touch it it seems to be where the plate is my wrist hurts every day my hand goes numb I'm not sure what to do. They did a nerve test said I have mild carpel tunnel gave me cortizone shot's 3 weeks it seem to make it worse. I don't desgree I have CTS but I feel that there is something going on where the plate is I have lived with this for almost 5 months. Is there something else that could be wrong the Dr. doesn't seem to want to exployer anything else. I don.t mind having the surgery for CTS but not if it won't fix the problem.
