I've been doing weight training at the gym the last couple of months and the last few weeks have been having pain in my left shoulder. It's a sort of dull burning from the top of the socket down the outside of my arm. It gets worse when I raise my arm.
I've cut back on the weight training -- eliminating shoulder exercises altogether, even, but the pain is still there and not getting any better.
Any ideas on what it could be and how to fix it?

Hi guys,
both sound a little like nerve compression to be. Any shooting or travelling pain, pains and needles or numbeness is usually nerve related.
I would recommend some stretching exercises for the upper back, neck and shoulder muscles.
If you want some ideas check out this page:

The most likely place for the nerve entrapment is the brachial plexus, which is where a whole bundle of nerves come out of the spinal column at the base of the neck and pass down your arm. So I would also recommend some massage to the trapz especially to help loosen off any muscular tightness
