Hi Ruth
I believe I have a fallen arch on my left foot but also experience ankle pain which seems to fit the description of anterior impingement. Until recently I also had bursitis at the rear of my knee . I am a wreck! My question is: Having rested from running for 4 weeks, I've felt no improvement and don't know where to turn. Would you suggest a podiatrist (for the plantar fascitis) or a physio.... or should I just go to the knackers yard. Whilst I joke about it, both conditions are painful and are impeding my training and I don't think I'm in a position to rehab with proprioception/balance work etc.

Can you advise?

Many thanks
Adam

Hi Adam,

It will be good to know a little more about your pain.

Can you describe exactly where the pain is? and what type of pain they are? when do you feel the pain, before or after trainning? what other treatment have you sought before?

What activities do you do and what is the intensity of these activities like?

cheers,
mwpod

I also have had this prob for the last 5months! I got injured playing football and just thought that it was my ankle that had gone again!!! after no improvement I went along to the physio who advised me that my arch had fallen and would need custom made othotics made.... getting them fitted in a weeks time YESSSSS!!

The pain I was getting was across the bones of my foot when I woke up in the morning, pain around the left side of my ankle and my achilles was also in pain.

The pyshio also told me that the other ankle I injured a couple of years ago hadn't healed properly and I had lost some muscle in that calf muscle.

So my advise would be go to the physio He/She will tell you exactly whats wrong with you and might find something else which may be helpful.... then possibly book into a podiatrists and get some insoles made.

Hopefully it will correct my problems and return to playing shortly.
