I am a very active 35 year old male. About 3 years ago I hurt both hamstrings playing softball. I haven't played a lot of softball since, until recently. Last night I was running to first base when I felt a sharp pain in my right hamstring. It became very tight and the pain was extreme. Not only did I have pain in my right hamstring, I had pain in both quads along with pain on both sides of my groin. I new that I was susceptible to hamstring injuries because I have hurt them in the past. So, I stretched for 10 minutes and ran the field before the game. What do I do now? My leg hurts so much that I can't sleep or walk without a limp. There is no bruising but it is swollen slightly. Should I see a doctor or should I just rest, ice, compress, and elevate? Any tips would be helpful.

I also have a hamstring injury, I dont know if its a pull or strain as I did it 5 weeks ago running and it has left me with a limp which got better but then after 3 weeks I went for another run and broke down again, Im now at the end of my tether and dont know what to do as I rest it and it just doesnt seem to get better

I know how you feel i have the same problem, i have been for scans, i get a massage regular which loosens the muscle up. I went to a physio last year and i was given a good rehab programme for leg curls and eventually building my running up. I was back sprinting with no probelms andwent back to early and played a few matches about 3 months ago. So i am back on the programme again to build up, if you want i could send ya the rehab programme as when i was looking for help its hard to find sure you have noticed that.
