After many 'guesses' from various physio's, GP, consultants and having 2 X-rays, an MRI, CT and Ultrasound scan I have finally been diagnosed with myositis ossificans 3x3.5x2cm across the adductor longus and adductor brevis. I've been given 4 weeks worth of anti inflams which I'm coming to the end of and this has had no effect. It's still very painfull, and the hard lump in my groin has not reduced if anything it has grown. I'm a student and play semi pro football, so as you can guess I need the money! The injury first occured when I struck the ball with the inside of my foot and it felt as if my groin completely opened up and I couldn't walk until the following night. This happened in early June and doesn't feel any easier, consultant says once the lump is not sensitive I can play again but it still feels as if it will go again. I don't know whether to take his word as gospel as I'm not too sure if he is very familiar with ways to treat this, and although he hasn't yet mentioned it does anybody know if this will result in surgery (I hope it will, just want to get it out of the way, no more waiting!) Any advice would be appreciated, as I'm desperately frustrated. Thanks
