Lightbulb Injury from the gym...please help

Ok so I initally pulled a muscle in my lower back lifting a weight stupidly and lazily without proper technique and form and then continued working out in the gym lifting heavy weights. It got to the point where the pain then hurt too much to work out at the gym and lift weights that I STOPPED (a week ago).

When I bend forwards about 45 degrees I can feel a sharp sort of pain in my lower back and it has been like this for about ten days now. I have rested a week and it still has not gone, although it has sort of improved by STRETCHING. I now cannot stretch my back out any more as before I was stretching to break past that 'pain barrier' to stretch out the affect muscle but that pain barrier when stretching has sort of gone yet my back still hurts.

IT WAS NEVER SWOLLEN OR PAINFUL WHEN TOUCHED! Any idea what could be wrong with it and when I could go back to lifting weights

    Thank you kindly in advance.

EDIT: The pain is basically right in my tail-bone area so when I bend forward when sitting down for example I can feel the sharp pain right in the centre of my tail-bone region.

Tailbone pain is unusual from such an injury, it is usually in the lower back or glutes.
Is there any pain to sit on it?
