    Default SI joint dysfuntion

Hey I am still having pain in my legs, back, upper back, and even my arms after my initial injury to my toe back in the summer of 2009.

Heidi helped with in this thread:http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1726

I have noticed my SI joint popping/clicking when I sit down and clench my butt together and my psoas muscle is pretty tight and messed up as well.

I have some weird dull pain in my left lower back and my left leg muscles spasm a lot and have tighten up.

I am currently seeing a chiropractor, deep tissue massage therapist, and a acupunturist but something tells me I am not treating the underlying condition and source of the problem.

I don't know where to go anymore for an evaluation and treatment. I know that the psoas and SI joint on my left side are sort of the cause of the problem but I am not a professional and need one to help me get better and back to normal any advice?

Have you got a rehabilitation programme? Have any of the professionals you have seen given you any exercises to do?
I would say that this is key to recovery. Making sure that your muscles are in balance around the pelvis especially. Common problems are tight hip flexors/weak glute max, tight groin/weak glute med/min and weak abs/tight hamstrings.
    Hope this helps

if by rehabilitation programme you mean deep tissue massage, acupuncture and stretching then yes I am doing that. Deep tissue was working until the sessions got too spread apart.

I am also looking into going to a egoscue clinic but it is far away and expensive but I am currently e-mailing one of the staff members there.

I am going to get my chiropractor to do another evaluation today and make an adjustment because something is clearly wrong with my hips/mid section.

I still to this day can not believe this has happened to me. I wish to god I never went to that stupid soccer game. I am in a nightmare now and don't know if I can find a way out.

no but I will ask my chiropractor about it. I just Googled it and found out what you are talking about basically you want me to start strengthening the muscles and start using them again. right?

well first I am going to be using Active release technique on the soft tissue areas of my toe, psoas, SI joint ligament and Piriformis muscle to get those soft tissues back to normal. In combination of that I am going to be using deep tissue massage to get the muscles to release and get the lactic acid out and muscle tightness to go away.

after that my plan is to do the exercise rehabilitation program, yoga, and swimming and then start to do some core strength training with a Physical trainer.

do you have anything to add or critique to this game plan Heidi?
