    Question Sever neck spasm

I had lied on tennis balls to release some knots in my upper back .However, I did not support my neck during that but never felt pain or discomfort until the following day. I woke up with very sever pain in the right neck, couldnt move my neck at all and this has been for 5 days with very little improvement. I also had a tonsillar pain in the right side.Went to the ER, they said this is not a tonsillar abscess or whatsoever and it is only a spasm that could go away ...Any one has knowledge or experience about this?
Could it be I hurt Splenius muscle thaat extends from upper back to the neck?
now it is painful in the right neck when i rotate to the right or to the left , tilt to the left, and when i extend my neck to the back

It is probably just a neck strain - basically a pulled muscle or muscle spasm in the neck. Try gently stretching it and getting some sports massage.
