    Exclamation AC seperation recovery time

I had a blunt impact to the right shoulder appx, 4 months ago. After an initial 3 months I went for a surf as I felt stronger and didn't feel much pain. Next day my pain felt as though the injury stepped back in recovery with a new sensation of a sharp pain near the long head of the bicep tendon. I had an MRI done which came back showing AC separation of 12mm, small tear to the infraspinatuse and fluid accumulation in the long head of the bicep tendon. I since have started PT using class IV laser and a series of shoulder exercise's and stretches. Initially I felt improvement but have since seemed to plateu inrecovery. I feel as though I hear and read alot of people with similar or in most cases more severe injuries yet they seem to be having faster recovery times. I'm a 22 year old male who works as a beach lifeguard and come March am going to need to swim for work. Any suggestions or hope to swim or use the arm at the same level, or am i being unrealistic? Anyone have similar situation with a light at the end of the tunnel?

What exercises have you been given to do and are you sticking to these religeously?
