I have recently been diagnosed with GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and I have been on medication for about 6 weeks. The "mental" symptoms seem to be dissipating; however, the physical symptoms come & go. I've been having pain in my upper left chest around my collar bone and into my shoulder (not constant, but it's irritating when I'm up & around). My dr. says it could either be still due to the anxiety or could be muscle strain. I do use my left shoulder for carrying bags, purses, etc. Do you think it might be muscle strain simply due to overuse? When I lay in bed at night, that's the side I often lie on too. I don't want to go to the dr. for every little pain, but when it's on the left side, one (with anxiety, nonetheless) can't help but be concerned.
