    Default deltoid pain

I injured my right shoulder two years ago. A few months after the injury, I had an AC joint resection and labral debridement. It took a while to recover from the surgery, but eventually I was able to lift weights with the exception of pushing motions such as bench press or push ups. However, just this past thanksgiving, about a week ago, I decided to play football for the first time in a while. I threw a lot of passes and took some hits. Since then, I have had a very sharp pain in the deltoid of the same shoulder (throwing shoulder). Things like pushing a door open away from my body with an outstretched arm is painful as well as holding or pushing my arm up to the side or in front of me against resistance I haven't been doing much since the injury, haven't tried lifting weights and I've been icing a lot. the pain is sharp and in the top side of my shoulder where the muscle (deltoid I believe) meets the bone (acromion I believe). I have been trying to do some light physical therapy stuff like lifting 4 or 5 pound weights out to my side, which isn't too painful. I have fairly good range of motion and can lift my arm above my head, with some pain but not much. Most of the pain is with resistance.
Do I have a tear? Should I see an ortho, or is this something that will get better soon?

Definitely go see someone. Could be a rotator cuff injury, could be AC joint injury again etc. Hard to know without assessing it.
