    Default Gushing in upper arm

my dad suffers from a sore shoulder and upper arm. it hurts him when he has his arm stretched out, or if he is raising his arm up, but when he has it fully up it is ok.
lately he is complaining of what he describes as feeling like a gushing in his upper arm when he lifts it up, this doesn't sound healthy, can anyone please help me figure out what is wrong with his arm/shoulder, and what treatment he should get please??

    Hi
I would advise you to visit your Doctor if you haven't already. If you get no help there visit an injury specialist such as a physio or sports therapist to get some advice. There could be several causes for his shoulder pain including rotator cuff damage or frozen shoulder, but as for the 'gushing' sensation I am afraid I have no idea what could be causing this

    Good luck!

Heidi is correct. Rotator cuff injury (tendinitis, tear) or frozen shoulder are likely culprits.

However, "gushing" is not a common symptom described amongst patients. Unless, of course, it infers a flow/rush of heat/burning sensation to the area.
