Had an acromioplasty 6 years ago on right shoulder with good result, after sustaining a left biceps tendonitis which is almost resolved in febuary, the thoracic extension exercises the physio gave me flared my right shoulder up. After 5 months physio was referred to shoulder surgeon, clinically he thought it was the long tendon of biceps had degenerated and was causing the bother.A subsequent ultra sound scan was normal.Although I have had maybe 40% improvement since july I am still getting pain in the right shoulder over the biceps tendon, scapula and referred to edge of the pectoral, although when it flares it settles after a few hours ,only occassional night time pain. The surgeon has offered me arthroscopy as the only reliable solution to check the shoulder, if degenerate or frayed he will automatically procede to tendonesis.
1. do I procede? heard biceps tendonesis is extremely painfull ,but has 90% good result
2. leave alone, will it get any better? or in the long term it will probably get worse again?
still having to guard this shoulder ,any pushing movement or above shoulder movement aggravates it. your toughts would be welcome!
