    Question Shoulder blade pain

    Hi all,
Been suffering from pain around the lower point of my shoulder blade. Been a swimmer for years but had to give it up due to the onging pain. As I move the arm forward and pull back on the stroke the shoulder blade tip grates into my back. This had gone on for years. Now doing any type of repetitive movement flares up the area. This has happened several times over the last two years while doing physio trying to strengthing it and hold correct posture. This condition has severe symptoms ie local pain, bouts of very high blood pressure lasting up to a minute, stiffness up along the neck to ear on same side, ongoing sore throat for over four months now.I also find I get hoarse from any extended duration of talking. Currently the area below the bottom feels hot and sore. Been ill for ten months this time. X ray seems to be normal and the doctor has been giving me antibiotics and pain killers. Little improvement but feel weak at times.....Anyone with advice on the illness would be very much appreciated...

when i read the first part of your post, i had a suspicion it may be one of your muscles (latissimus dorsi) causing the problem. however, based on the list of symptoms you described, you may have more than one thing going on.

without a proper examination, it will be very difficult to provide you with any useful advice. i would suggest you see a specialist (eg a physio, osteopath etc) if you haven't already. they should be able to check if what you have is indeed a musculoskeletal condition or if needed, they will refer you to the appropriate health care practitioner.

I agree. I think from your list of symptoms that it would be difficult if not impossible for anyone to give you any helpful and accurate advice here. You really need to pursue this with your medical professionals.
    Good luck!
