Default Shoulder pops when i rotate it.

When i rotate my shoulder it feels (and sounds) like it pops or clicks. It also does it when i move it backward and forward. There is no pain when this happens but i was just wondering if it can get worse. My other shoulder is fine and there are no problems with it. There was no incident which started this and has just started over the past year but i have just started to worry about it. Please let me know if you can tell me what it is or how i can fix it.
    Thanks

    Hi
It could be a couple of things.
It is most likely if there is no pain at all that is it actually a muscular 'knot' which is rubbing against the shoulder blade when you rotate the shoulder. This is quite common and is usually related to postural issues such as very rounded shoulders and a forward protruding chin/neck.
Other possibilities are an impingement of one of the tendons at the shoulder, although if no pain has developed in this time then it is unlikely, as repetitive rubbing of the tendon will eventually result in damage to the tendon.
I would advise you to visit a sports massage therapist for some work on the upper back and shoulder muscles to loosen this area and break down any knots. They can also show you some stretches for the area, such as the neck and posterior shoulder stretches shown here: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/stretching/allstretches.php
