    Question Shoulder Separation?

Hello, I have shoulder pain and a small bump on the top of my shoulder. My doctor has just given me the results of an x-ray and says it shows slight movement of the clavicle at the AC joint. I have to have physio. Can anyone tell my if this is a shoulder separation? Many thanks.

    Hi
Yes this is an AC joint injury or separation. It usually occurs when there has been a fall on to the shoulder or other traumatic injury which causes damage to the ligaments which hold that joint together. This can result in the end of the clavicle rising up and a bump appearing on the top of the shoulder.
