    Smile shoulder/upper arm pain

I think I injured my arm on an eliptical machine...one that the arms move forward and backward. I've been having pain in my upper rt arm for over a month now. No pain at all as long as I dont try to lift my arm or reach out. The pain isnt as bad as it was initially, but still bad enough that it affects my daily activities such as washing my hair, getting dressed and a multitude of other things. The location of the pain is about 2-3 inches from the top of the shoulder and only in the front. Just wondering if this is muscle strain and how long will it take to heal? Have had many sore muscles over the years and never had anything like this! thanks

    Hi
Did you feel anything in your arm at the time when you think you injured it? Using an eliptical trainer is quite an unusual way of injuring your arm.
I think you should be looking at other options. The main things that come to mind are that it could be more of a neck problem. Have you had any pain in the neck, or does it feel stiff, tight or achey at all? Have you had any shooting pains into the arm or any tingling or numbness? Any previous history of neck injury/pain?
Alternatively, frozen shoulder could be the problem. Do you mind me asking you age? This is most prevalent in women over th age of 40.
