    Default Torn pec major muscle

About a month and a half ago I injured my shoulder during a judo match which left me
In a lot of pain. Ive had an ultrasound and been told I have avulsion of lower fibres of pectoralis major off
the bicepital ridge. I have problem lifting arm out infront of me and feels very weak.
Just looking for info and advice of what i.am to expect in the terms of recovery.
    Many thanks in advance

    Hi
If there is an avulsion fracture this means the muscle has pulled part of the bone away. These will take quite a while to heal and you should try to get some professional treatment if you haven't already. I presume they don't want to operate?
Once it is painfree to do so you can start strengthening exercises. You can find some examples here: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/front/shoulder/pecinsertionrupture.htm
