    Default Boxing injury

Injured first two knuckles of the right hand, swelled up got the swelling down,it is not broken, feels ok for everyday use. I have rested it for three weeks from training, but when i went back training the second knuckle swelled up is this liagement damage. I always bandage my hands up before training is there anything i can do different when bandaging my hands that might help. What do you think the injury could be. Sparky from Suffolk.

    Hi
How did you injure the hand? What were you doing at the time. Have you had an x-ray to confirm there is no fracture? Sometimes very small fractures get missed on an early x-ray.

Ligament damage is possible although this depends on exactly where the pain is?

Is there anywhere particularly that is tender to the touch? Any bruising?

The hand is such a complex area that is could be a number of structures including a ligament or tendon.

I think you need to visit a specialist so you can get an assessment.
