Unhappy Hamstring injury from Aug 07

I pulled my hamstring back in Aug of 07 playing softball. I'm a triathlete and former collegiate swimmer, but have put on a lot of weight prior to injuring myself. Since injuring my leg, I have gone to PT and it has gotten better, but it seems to have reached a point where it won't heal anymore. The pain that I have now is near my but where the muscle attaches to the pelvis. Mr. doctor originally thought i tore it from the bone, but after the MRI we realized that was not the case.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get my hamstring back to 100%? I am continously doing the rehab on my own (stretching, strengthening) but can't seem to improve anymore. I am desperate and I need to be able to run and bike again. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Have you had any massage therapy? You may find you now have a tendonopathy of one of the hamstring tendons. Get some massage and ultrasound to help it along and if your strengthening is painful, rest it for a while just continue with the stretching then gradually build up the strengthening again.

    Hope this helps
