    Default hand injury

I play baseball and softball, often as a catcher. Late last year I received a blow on the fleshy part of my hand just below the index finger, which was aggravated as the game progressed. I rested it and the swelling and bruising subsided along with the pain. Now when I catch the ball in this spot again, my hand instantly swells and causes substantial pain to do anything. Also when i put pressure on the spot, i get a creaking sensation. I was wondering if there could be a fracture in the area? Do you know of any way i could support the area while playing?

There may have been a fracture at the time, but only an x-ray would confirm this.
maybe some sort of padded glove?

    Nice sharing.
I think first you should try to do X-ray, then do any treatment.
Because first you confirmed that what is problem in your finger and
    then start to treatment.
