Default I put bag of frozen peas on area with little fat or muscle, now a little scared...

I done this injury around 6 weeks ago and never iced it at the time and for whatever reason I decided I would ice it today. I did not have ice though so I used a bag of frozen peas. I lay flat on my back and placed the bag under the bend at my knee for 5 minutes exactly. After this I placed the bag on top of my knee for 2 minutes, and then from here a bit further down the front of the lower leg for 2 minutes. I remembered reading how it was dangerous to leave ice on too long as it can cause frostbite so this is why I only had it on for this short time. After I had done this I searched this topic again on google and came across this article - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1368680/Putting-frozen-peas-on-a-bruise-can-give-you-frostbite.html. Now I am a little frightened. You should not put frozen peas directly on the skin; it should be placed in a towel. Also, for areas with little or no muscle or skin you should leave on for max ten minutes. Now I assume that last comment is when there is a towel wrapped around it. I did not have a towel wrapped around it and I iced for nearly 10 minutes total. The areas I iced have little if absolutely any fat or muscle. It is just bone or tendon or whatever. What should I do? I am terrified here.

Yes you should use a towel when using frozen peas or any kind of ice pack.
However, I think the liklihood of you getting frostbite is very very slim! How does the area feel now? Provided it doesn't feel any different since icing it then I'm sure you'll be fine! Just be a little more careful next time.
