    Default it's a strange one!

about a month ago i felt a shooting pain in my lower back as i was putting some shorts on. I initially thought it was a slipped disc, but after a day the pain subsided quite a lot.
I've been seeing a physio for it, and had accupuncture and massage for it. Now the problems with my back and upper leg are fine, as in no pain and mobility's better than it was before the initial injury, but my calf is dead as a dodo!
There's little strength in it and no explosive power like when you walk or run. also, kicking a football is problematic.
I first felt some pain in the calf a couple of weeks after the back pain when I woke up in the morning. It felt like a cramp or maybe a strain. There's no pain involved anymore.
    any ideas?

    Default back pain

Hi cobby, it sounds like you have a pinched nerve somewhere. I think you should see a specialist before you see a physio. They can better diagnose your problem. I loved your "dead as a dodo" bit. It might take time for your calf muscle to work, but like I said see a real specialist like an orthopedic surgeon. They won't necessarily do surgery, but they know some of the best conservative treatments. Hope this was helpful for you. - Elyse
