    Default Sore knee cap

Hi , did the Edinburgh Marathon in May. and the 64 mile Manchester Blackpool bike ride in July. Ever since I keep getting a burning pain in my knee cap area. I don't get it all the time and at rest is no problem. I finished both events even though I knew something was wrong. I have rested since but it has not gone. Anyone got any idea what it could be ?

    Hi John

When particularly do you get pain? Is the pain not in a specific area, but just around the knee cap?

Most general pain around the knee cap which comes on without incident is called patellofemoral pain syndrome. You can find out more about it here:

    Default sore knee

Hi , its a strange type of pain. if I take it easy on my bike its ok. If I realy push when say going up hill its then that I feel it. The pain is on and around my knee cap. It just came on when I was training for the Marathon. I will try a knee support and see how it goes. I hope to get back on the bike on Monday to get ready for the Manchester 100Km in early Sept.
