    Default Sprained wrist,something torn?

The other day, I was putting my clarinet together (I have no cork grease and so it was hard to get it together) and my wrist twisted in a weir way and it hurt right then. Well, after about a week the pain has gotten worse. I can pick up some things, but a lot of things that I try to pick up I can't because it causes way too much pain. It hurts on the inside by the thumb area by the way. It hurts to flex it, bend it up, bend it down (only slightly though), and it hurts the most when I move it to the left at a slight angle. There might be a little bit of swelling but it is hard for me to tell. This could just be a sprain, but it hurts way more than one I have ever had. I have also discovered that if I turn my wrist (its the left one) to the left and I try to pick things up that are heavier, I can't because it is way too painful. When I move it side to side it sometimes pops loudly while also hurting and it can sounds almost crunchy sometimes. I should be going to the doctor soon. But as for now I would like to have an idea of what is wrong.

I agree that it is probably a sprain - ligament injury. Could be one of the thumb tendons too though.
These usually heal on their own within a couple of weeks but you should definitely get it looked at.
In the meantime, try to rest it as much as possible and apply ice 3-4 times a day for 10 minutes at a time. A wrist support may help you to rest it.

Thank you. I will be trying to go to the doctor next week if they have opening slots. I was just wondering though, is there a chance that you can break the scaphoid in the wrist by the wrist being twisted?

No I don't think so. It is usually broken by a fall onto an outstretched hand.
