    Hi willo,

It might be that you need to ease back into training rather than throwing yourself in to a full training schedule? Have you changed your shoes at all, or your technique? Do you recall turning your ankle at all?

If you're concerned, go and see a sports doctor or a physiotherapist who might be able to identify the cause of your mystery swelling. Have you read our page on ankle injuries here http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/lowerleg_ankle_injuries.php#ankle ? Lots of information on injuries as well as rehabilitation and strengthening/stretching exercises which may be of use.

Please let us know how you get on!
