Upper thigh injury

I was boating in August with my daughter, son-in-law and friends and was getting into the boat and slipped and pressed against the small window and had severe bruising which I had put ice and elevated my leg. It has left a large indentation as well as some hardness around the area. Is there anything I need to do? Or should I go to a doctor to have it checked out? Or will it go away eventually?

Its probably just a contusion and the hardness is from the blood clot that formed, it usually doesn't hardened unless you've done it multiple times to the same area. The blood should disperse and the bruise with start to turn multiple colors, purple --> blue --> green --> yellow
