Default Wrist Pain that won't go away

About three weeks ago I started having wrist pain in my left wrist. I think I might've fallen on it but I'm not sure at all. I feel it on the inside of my wrist below the bottom of my thumb. The pain seems really random, sometimes it won't hurt at all while other times it will hurt terribly with every little movement. What can I do to finally end the injury? I need to be able to lift weights soon and I'm having trouble because of the wrist.

Have you had it looked at? If you think you fell you should get it x-rayed as small fractures in the wrist are common and can be difficult to heal. See scaphoid injuries.
If not, it may be soft tissue such as a ligament sprain. These just require lots of rest.

I haven't had it checked. It's one of those things where everyone seems to think its not a big deal and will go away eventually.
