Hello,
About two years ago, I stamped my foot three times in succession on a tiled floor to prove to myself that my right foot was far stronger than the recently badly sprained left foot. Unfortunately, due to my bad luck, I quickly ended up with a shooting pain going through my foot/ankle. It did go away after a while, but I have noticed that sometimes the problem just comes back. I have put this re-occurence down to either a nerve or tendon issue. I also have the feeling that the spongy ankle cartilage may have been compacted slightly which may cause trapped nerve/tendon issues on occasion.
Only yesterday, I could not stand on my right foot due to tendon//nerve flare-up. However, when I took the strain off my foot, the pain went away. So, I tried my compression/nerve theory out yesterday by asking a work colleague to pull my foot away from my ankle in the hope that it would release any impingement, which it did, albeit enough to allow release of the inflammed nerve/tendon.
I am happy to report that the impingement issue has almost recovered. I suppose, based on this knowledge, a similar effect can be achieved using inversion tables for back pain issues and to possibly gently pull the feet away from the ankles to allow the cartilage/nerves/tendons to recover?
I have read the foot injury symptoms and noticed that I seem to have experiences of the following:
peronealdislocation
footballers ankle
and no surprise... ankle impingement.
I would be grateful for any comment on my experiences.
regards,
andy
