    Smile any ideas please?

Hey, all the way back in April I was playing football and went to shoot the ball, instead I kicked the ground! Damn painful. I thought it was just a sprain or something and left it a few days.
It is NOT painful to walk.
But everytime I play football I can feel a niggling pain when I kick the ball.
The pain is situauted on the metartasol connected to the big toe.
There is no swelling, no visible sign of injury and does not hurt when pressed.
I have seen the doctor in June, and she said rest it for a couple of weeks which I did once. Which didnt do the trick, I did this again in the last 2 weeks, but still it is there!
    Any ideas?

where abouts? is the pain nearer the ankle or the big toe? Does it feel directly over the bone?
    Can you run without pain?
Was there ever any bruising or swelling?
Sorry for all the questions but they might help.

The pain is nearer the big toe but pretty central on the foot its a sharp pain and also hurts under the foot only when striking the ball. I can run without any problems and there was never any brusing or swelling. After i have played a match it feels sore for a night and feels tender when i raise my toes up(only after playin) . thanks heidi

    Ok
From what you have said about it being painful when you pull your toes up, but with no signs of pain on running and never any bruising or swelling I would think it is unlikely anything like a stress fracture. Therefore I think it is probably a tendon injury, to the tendons that run along the top of the foot to the toes.

I think you should go to a sports injury professional though as this could be a number of other things as well and you need someone to have a thorough look and assessment.
