    Default BOF injury

    Hello!

About a year ago I was playing football a lot ( still do tho) and I was hitting really hard on the football for a few days until my foot started to hurt in the front part. Since then I am having problems with my balls of the feet (BOF) ( I don't know any medical terms), to be precise the most left part of the balls of the right foot. It starts to hurt (from the BOF and to the middle of my right thumb) if I do anything that involves bending my toes upwards ( and hitting the football with the front part of the foot ofcourse). And the pain comes gradually in a couple of minutes into the activity unless for example I am running up a steep hill ( then it starts to hurt really bad right away).

My question: is there anyway to fix this without going to some kind of specialist? (And I didn't go to a doctor yet because It only really started to bother me now that It's warm outside and activities are coming up. I don't feel any pain if I walk even for hours. Only If I bend my toes hard.

Sometimes the feeling is so disturbing that I just want to break my foot in half to release the tension.

Any help will do! Thank you!

Could be turf toe? Have a look and see if the symptoms match: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/front/foot/turftoe.htm
