    Default Claw foot

    I have "claw foot". I know, because i've been to a specialist. But through out my entire life (i'm nearly 16 years old) i've had injuries in my feet, legs and a lot of pain in my knees. Is that due to the claw foot? In the past few months i have felt some pain in my calf (the back of the leg). The most common pain, is in my knee, and does the claw foot have an inluence in so much?? I've been told that, but wanted to be sure.

    Please tell me if i've written something that doesn't make sense

    Hi

    Claw-foot is another way of saying you have a high arch or you over-supinate. This can cause big problems throughout the lower leg and knee, even up to the lower back, especially if you run or play a lot of sports.

    When you have a high arch it rotates your shin and knee outwards and is not good for shock absorbing either. This means you get a lot of extra strain placed through your legs causing muscle pain and imbalances

    Do you have orthotics or insoles in your shoes? You would find this really helps. The best thing to do is see a podiatrist or similar who can make a pair specifically for your feet. But you can buy them off the peg too.

    Thanks for the answer! I do a lot of sports, and i have insoles in both my football shoes and running shoes. Even though, i easily get injuries I've been to a specialist and he gave me some exercises, but i haven't felt any difference.

    hi Schytte, can you be more precise as to what you mean by "claw foot"?

    when you say injuries, do you mean that you have broken any bones or torn any ligaments? or just simply a sprain?

    What type of insoles did the specialist prescribed? Prefabricated or custom-moulded?

    What exercises were prescribed and how often do you do them?
