    Default Damaged big toe pain

    Hi all,

I used to train full time in Thai Boxing 3 years ago, and i am trying to get back into it, however
i am struggling with sever pain in my left foot's big toe.

When i was training before, the gym had spongey matts and i 'went over on the toe' three times in the space of a few months. To clarify, imagine standing on a soft matt and curling your toes for grip, then as you are moving the foot forward, the big toe catches and the whole foot rolled over the top. At the time i thought i had broken the toe. Ever since the toe joint, as in the last knuckle of the big toe has been very sore, like a nerve pain feeling and i have pretty much lost the ability
to wiggle and flex the toe. Even using my hand to flex it, it is no where near as flexible as the healthy right big toe.

Does anyone have any similar experiences or advice onm how to rehabilitate the toe or simply just stopping it hurting would be great.

    Many Thanks

    KC

    Hi
How long has this been going on and did you ever go for an x-ray?

    Hi

No i didnt get an x-ray.

i went to hospital and they just said rest it for 6 months......which would be great advice if that was an option...

I kind of just left it and hoped it would get better like most things do.

It happened 4 years ago and at times it dosent hurt, tho the mobility is always absent.
As i am trying to start training again it has started hurting even when i walk.
It flared up painfully a few days ago whilst skipping.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
