    Default Foot and ankle injury

A Friend of my jumped from a one story roof and injured his foot on September 12 2011.

He went to the ER and followed up at urgent care centers the following was done.

    - x-rays (No brakes)
    - Air Cast
    - Ace bandages
    - Ice Packs

All follows up the docs said it looked fine and possibly go see a foot doc. (didnt go)

    Its now 1/1/2012
His foot is fine and normal in the morning but by afternoon its 3x its size from swelling. at times he still complains of pain and discomfort.

    Any Ideas?

    any thoughts would be helpful

more than likely a sprain type injury, they can take 6 plus months to heal. the swelling can be more
associated with the pooling of fluids from activities of daily living, ie. standing, prolong sitting and just gravity taking its toll. As he rests at night his body being in a recumbent position has an opportunity to remove those fluids appropriately. He should be under the care and guidance of PT and foot specialist to make sure no further damage has occurred.
