Default foot pain in ice skater

Hi, my daughter age 13 first started having foot pain almost 4 years ago, was diagnosed with tendonitus. A private physio said she had flat feet but the hospital consultant never picked up on this for 2 1/2 years! She iceskates between 10-14 hours a week. She was then diagnosed with Severs disease which didnt seem to get any better and was then about to be put in cast for a few weeks to rest her ahilles but the consultant himself said there was something else going on s ordered an mri which she had 10 days later. She was resting for a couple of months at a time from all activities. The mri showed her heels had calcified, multiple stress fractures on both feet with swollen joints and fluid in the joints (feet). A bone scan showed slightly ow bone density. After more rest she got back to skating, building up slowly but after a few months she was admitted to orthopediac hospital for 2 weeks of intense physio and hydrotherapy. She had pain, swelling, pins and needles, burning sensations and was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. After another 6 months off ice shes returned, her physio at the hospital picked up on her flat feet which are very overpronated so she now has inersoles in her trainers etc. She needs ones that fit her skates, she has bought sports ones, Superfeet however after seeing a private specialist last night he said she needs her feet scanning and some specialist ones need making for her skates. Her feet this morning are tender, she has some small swelling on her achilles...is this all worth it? She skates high level and its her life but she needs her feet healthy for walking....so stressed!

Deciding if it is worth it is a decision that only she can make.
Make sure you get the customised insoles as soon as possible. They can really make a big difference.
Has she had any therapy or rehab...exercises etc?

Hi, yes, shes been given exercises and has had physio on and off for a couple of years and then 2 weeks in hops for intense physio and hydrotherapy. she does stretches and exercises every day. her achilles is short due to sudden growth spurt and because her feet are so flat and roll in. she wants to continue so i suppose we will wait and see. shes due to have her feet scanned for some new specialist ones as the ones the orthopediac hosp made just arent right for skates.
