Default foot/shin pain from swelling that happened 4 months ago

okay heres the deal, im a muay thai fighter (kickboxer) and had my first no shinpad fight 4 months ago
you kick with your shins so you bang shin to shin in the fight...

i came out with my shin/foot really bruised and did not ice it right away (iced it the next night) because im an idiot...

anyways, its been 4 months....i took all the anti-flammitory meds i was given, i did the rice procedure and all that jazz....its no longer swollen...

BUT....the top of the foot is still VERY numb to the touch, almost like it just came off a 3hr long ice bath or something..
my whole leg was numb for a month after the fight but it went away gradually....except the foot
im worried because its been 4 almost 5 months and no progress has been made on the foot...

yes i will see a doctor soon but now i am asking you guys' opinion on what could be causing this lack of healing progress and how i can fix it..
    thank you...

Numbness is due to nerve injury. This probably happened in the shin and it is taking a whilse for the nerve to heal. This is not uncommon but you should still seek medical help.
