    Default Not a bunion?

I suffered a foot injury about 6 years go playing soccer. Another player stepped on my foot in between my big toe and the rest of my foot. (what are the odds) Anyway, I shrugged it off as a minor sprain and assumed my foot would heal. Well, it did heal and the pain is gone, but now my toe bone protrudes out like that of a bunion. It has been like that ever since. Recently, I have been more active and after exercising, my foot becomes tender on that bone. It doesnt bother me while exercising or if it is hit, but afterward it always seems to inflame. Any thoughts? How can I get my foot back to normal?

    Hi,

There has obviously been some structural damage to the bone. For this reason I would suggest visiting a podiatrist. They should be able to assess your foot to see what the problem is, whether it is bone causing the pain, or whether there is a soft tissue problem as a result of the changed shape of your foot.

    Good luck!
