    Default Numbness and tearing sensation

I went snowboarding on Saturday for about 8 hours. Later that night I noticed that my forward foot was numb from the tip of my big toe to the middle of my foot, but only in a space approximately the width of my big toe. I have numbness only on the top of my foot (the sole is fine). The toe will not bend all the way forward, but not too limited. Additionally, there is no discoloration and minimal broken blood vessels.
Occasionally the wrong pressure will arouse a tearing sensation at the base of the big toe. No real pain or limitation beyond that. Oh and the toe kind of "cracks" if I wiggle it side to side.
What in the world could this be? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi
It could be a number of things, but my guesses would be either an injury to the Extensor Hallucis Longus tendon which runs across the top of the foot to the big toe.

Or possibly to the ligament at the mcp joint at the base of the big toe.

Try to rest it, ice it and see what happens in the next few days. If no improvement over the course of the next week, visit your doctor or a sports injury therapist.
