    Default outside foot pain

I have pain on the outside of my left foot. Around the 5th metatasal and going up to my ankle. I have had an xray and MRI which showed nothing. I have been going through this since January and getting no answers. At 1 point they put the walking boot on me which helped a great deal except after 2 weeks it created a problem in my knee. My knee is better, but still not my foot. When the pain is at its worst I do get some relief if someone rubs the edge of the outside of the foot, but it is temporary. Now the Dr is suggesting a bone scan which I think is just a delay tactic because they have no clue and I am getting no relief. ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi,

When did this start? after any incident, or did it come on gradually? Have you been doing anything new lately, i.e. running, other sports, different shoes etc?

When is the pain....what activities or movements cause it? Is it worse at a certain time of day?

Sorry for all the questions, they really are necessary for me to try to help
